Executive Chef Patricia Hochhaus began her culinary career with studying Italian food in Italy, and subsequently moved to the island of Maui in Hawaii to raise her family.
She opened "Maui Pasta" - an Italian Takeout Restaurant and wholesaler of fresh, hand-made Italian food, with a specialty in fresh, homemade and flavored pastas.
Seeing the cuisine around her on Maui, she fell in love with Hawaiian food too, and learned the intricacies of the recipes and sauces that gave Hawaii their unique flavors.
When her husband passed away suddenly in 2016, Patricia ended up moving her beloved family restaurant to Scottsdale, and opened up "Maui Pasta" Italian restaurant in Gainey Ranch.
With the Coronavirus pandemic wreaking havoc on the restaurant industry, Patricia had an idea!
What if she offered a second menu featuring Hawaiian Plates, a food profile she dearly missed, to her local Arizona community?
And thus, in the Fall of 2020, Aloha Hawaiian Plates was born as a virtual restaurant! Offering Hawaiian Plates along with Chocolate Haupia Pie, and with plans to expand the menu, the new restaurant serves Hawaiian takeout directly from Maui Pasta Italian Restaurant, delivery through all the third party delivery services such as Doordash, Ubereats and Grubhub, and even offers the "secret menu" to anyone who would like to sit down for a meal in our quaint Hawaii-themed Maui Pasta Restaurant.
We sincerely hope you will try our version of the flavors of Hawaii!
